So I've been sitting at House of Aromas for the past 5 hours and managed to get two assignments done for Principles of Microeconomics. Yay!!! That's more than I've gotten done the past two weeks. Amazing what you can get done with no one you know around to distract you. Once I get these two assignments back, graded, I can take the midterm. Not excited about the midterm, but am excited to be halfway done. If only I can say the same for Organizational Leadership. Summer news, working at Best Buy in the computers department. It's super sweet! Goal for the summer, try to keep this baby updated.

Taking a breather from this tough week. It wouldn't be so bad if it hadn't been for the tornadoes that hit Iowa City last Thursday night. UISG spent Thursday night mobilizing and the rest of the weekend doing stuff for tornado relief. It felt wonderful helping people and see all the donations coming from businesses and such.
A bit of bad news, the Alpha Chi house was destroyed. Thankfully they're all okay and are currently in the old FIJI house. I spent many hours with them and helping them move and stuff. I'm so much closer now to that house than I ever was before. They want to make me an honorary Alpha Chi. That's so sweet! I'm glad all the women are making it through and putting their lives back together. The only good thing is that their nationals is building them a new and better house.
Monday was working on SLS application. Tuesday was finding a copy of a book, reading it, and writing a paper on it. I went out to Summit after the Finkbine dinner with Danielle, Jeff, and Saurav. It was tons fun. Thang, I danced with your manager at Three Samurai and he wanted my number. Unfortunately he did not get it because Danielle disappeared with my purse and I had to track her down. However, Mark says it's good he didn't get my number because he's "dirrty." I ended up back at Summit when I found out it was JJ's birthday and I did six shots with him. It was a good night. Today is another book and paper, have to read the Da Vinci code for Politics of Popular Culture. However, I solved the book reading problem by talking to Andrew about it while giving each other massages in the UISG office. Now I know the entire plot and what happens as well as my arguments for why it's a piece of crap. Sorry to those of you who actually like the Da Vinci code, my opinion right now is purely based on Andrew, which means it's elitest and I hate stupid people who think it's a good piece of literature. I also have to write my portion of the paper for the group project for International Business Environment. I would save that for tomorrow during the day, but we're going to Hickory Hills park to clean up for the tornado. I also have to study for a final in Media, Advertising, and Society. Ick... No sleep tonight for me.
The roundtable went well. We had excellent people who were willing to talk and discuss and air out their opinions. I would have been in time for the last half of the skit for AEPhi, but Phi Alpha Delta called. Alan was elected President. Yay! And now I'm writing this and waiting for Danielle so we can get her car out of the IMU ramp.
Next stop, home for paper writing and studying. Although that might be detoured if Alan calls from Brother's or if I "somehow" end up at Donnelly's for It's Wednesday Night.
Wow... Greek Week has been amazing! Into the Streets kind of sucked with the rain. It would have been better if we could have worked on Habitat builds. But we did find some really interesting/weird things along the highway. The blood drive was an awesome event. I'm so glad I got to plan it. It was really stressful and hectic to get started, but once everything was set up, it ran really smoothly. I wish more people could have and would have donated blood, but we still got a decent number. There was a steady stream of donors throughout the day, which was good. The educational on Tuesday night had the potential to be really good, but too bad the speaker was really depressing. And Olympics was fun on Wednesday. I worked the dunk tank and almost had to go in, but luckily I didn't. I also got sunburnt, which sucked. Then afterwards, Thang and I went shopping for my Follies and TAGARISTA dresses. Follies on Thursday night was amazing! All the skits and dancing was wonderful. By far the BEST event for Greek Week! My dress was short and bright red. It was hot. Pete told me I should have worn the black dress I got for TAGARISTA because it was fabulishious, and the red one was just whorey. But I liked the red dress. It was fun and totally fit the mood for follies. Tomorrow is the Elementary School Project. Playing with little kids will be fun.
I've learned so much about the Greek community this past few months. It's amazing the energy that people bring to this week. Homecoming is really just practice and sizing up the competition for Greek Week. All the chapters (well almost all the chapters) brought out all they could to make Greek Week a huge success. Everyone who participates is proud to be Greek. I can't wait for Greek Week next year. Hopefully I can make Council again.
And totally CONGRATS to Phi Psi and Delta Gamma! Their skit for Follies was amazing. I'm sad I missed Mike dancing though. He was in the corner I couldn't see. But he promised me a private show if I can't find anyone that taped it. I'm hoping no one taped it... Mon, Dec. 12th, 2005, 03:35 pm
Dear Santa...
Dear Santa,
This year I've been busy!
Last Monday I gave mrfloyd5933 a life-saving blood transfusion (50 points). In January I pulled over and changed pcx226's flat tire (15 points). Last week I committed genocide... Sorry about that, casper515 (-5000 points). In February I set gomezvsrufio's puppy on fire (-66 points). In March I had a shoot-out with rival gang lords on the 5 near LA (-76 points).
Overall, I've been naughty (-5077 points). For Christmas I deserve a spanking!

Thu, Nov. 3rd, 2005, 12:08 am Summit Night
I've got one midterm and an essay to go this week. And another exam to look forward to next week, as well as another essay. But so far I'm surviving.
The social tomorrow night should be fun. AXO finally made up their mind and are cancelling. But another social will be there as well. As for Summit tonight with the 10Kers, they didn't know how to make my bacardi ultimate. And the sex on the beach I traded in for, sucked! I left JJ a very disappointed voicemail. And tomorrow night he is going to pay... Wed, Nov. 2nd, 2005, 12:58 am
Kevin Hansen was so cute earlier tonight. I was alone in the main office studying and a janitor came in and started randomly talking to me. Please note that this has never happened before, so it was kind of creepy. Kev emerged from the conference room where he was studying and assured me he heard the entire conversation and was poised to spring out of the door if I was in trouble.
I really need some shopping therapy. A good, solid, 4 hours at the mall to drop like $200 on clothes, shoes, makeup, accessories, etc. would be soooo wonderful. Especially at H&M or J Crew or Charlotte Russe. Coincidentally, none of those are anywhere near Iowa City. I would most definately have to go to Chicago. Maybe a weekend trip?

I'm sick and life sucks. I have something every night this week. Monday night was Dance Marathon. Tuesday night was the David Stollman educational and the announcement of Special Election results. Tonight was the Philanthropic Leadership Roundtable (it went really well!). It's also Austin's birthday but I'm too sick to celebrate with him. I'm also missing Summit Night with the 10Kers. Thursday night is social chair meeting at Vito's and then shopping for initiation shoes with Nataly. Friday night is the Green & White dinner and the Town Gown Social. I really want to be at both, but they're at the same time. I STILL haven't figured out how to be in two places at once. Anybody got any suggestions?
